I am a Police Man. I also have a desire to celebrate festivals, to have lunch and dinner with my family but in 20 years of my service, but I never got a chance to celebrate Holi, Diwali, Eid or Christmas and rarely share lunch/dining table with my family. My relative stopped visiting me as I never attended their social cause.
People perception is that the policemen are very lazy, but do they know, what time I leave my home for duty? I leave home daily 0600 hrs in morning with Tiffin in my hand without any break for Sunday or holidays and return only after 1000 hrs in night and always found children sleeping and wife is waiting as true Indian Nari. I don’t know when my children grown and become baby to adult. It is a true fact that most of the children of policemen are lacking in proper education and proper guidance to become a good citizen and excel in their life and we are giving our present and future to protect the present and future of our beloved citizens. People may say that we are getting salary for doing all this but they did not know a policeman do duty 18 months in a year (minimum 12 hours/day without Sunday or holidays) where all other do only 10 months (with 7 hours/day with 70 days as Saturday, Sunday and holidays) duty in a year and Even after this much devotion, the People think Policemen are lazy.Police job is a thankless job, in need hour everybody want police but as soon as their need is achieved they start criticizing police.
There is general assumption that all policemen are corrupt. But here with great conviction I would like to say that in India no one has right to blame other as corrupt because most of those who are honest only because they did not get a chance to become corrupt and rest others are corrupt by one and another means. I attended the rallies during Jan Lokpal movement and seen in night candle march most of the shop keepers and some so called social activities take very active part in that rallies and 90% of very same shopkeeper never give proper cash memo to their customers and evade government tax, is it not a corruption? People always talked about corruption in Police specially in Police station and traffic police level but I would like to say that Honest people never give bribe only corrupts gives bribe and when he gives Rs 10 to policeman as a bribe he illegally earned Rs. 100 or more than that. But we always only talk about the corruption of policemen but never even mentioned a line about the bribe giver. Police duty is outdoor duty so dereliction of duty by policemen are easily visible but there are more bigger corrupt never come in light where a police men take Rs. 10 from a overloaded truck become a point of discussion during prime time of news channels but 176 lakh core in not a point of action without court intervention where recently in a state a peon was found 100 crore property holder but that never become a discussion point. I am not protecting or defending a corrupt policeman and I know some percentage of policemen are indulge in corrupt practice and they need to be dealt severally with exemplary punishment We need to have Zero tolerance in corruption but my humble request please don’t generalize entire police force as corrupt as it hurt us very hard and it also de-motivate a honest and hard working policeman from duties.
I saw Rallies were organized and are being organizing on daily basis in all part of India in support of Delhi Gang rape and that is good we all should show our solidarity and condemn this heinous act and culprit must be hanged at Char Rasta. But during these rallies I also saw people abused police and even some of them had questioned the relevance of police. I would like to say that we are also from this same society and we are also feeling the same pain as you all are. If she was your sister same way, she was ours too. Police show it best professionalism and solved this blind rape case within 24 hours so police also deserve some appreciation. We agreed that it was our failure that we cannot prevent this incident before it happening and we deserve your criticism but if you think that all rape can be prevented then you are running away from your own responsibility. Yes a rape can be prevented by police but not all rapes. To stop all kind of rape everybody and every sections of society need to play its own part to stop such incident. But till now what I saw, everybody are running away from taking their own responsibility and blaming police and making police scapegoat. Why government banned production so Gutka and other cancerous articles, why not made Doctors responsible for spread cancer because Gutka and other cancerous articles play a vital role in spreading cancer. And Doctors can only treat a cancer but they cannot eradicated all cancer and for eradicating cancer government has banned production of Gutkha and publishing lots of advertisement on electronic media and print media . Police can prevent a rape but it cannot eradicate cause for rape from that every section of society have to take it responsibility. Every one of us required giving moral education to our children but we are not doing that we are giving education to earn and earn money, not reputations and respect.
Bollywood has also showed it solidarity with the victim girls and organized candle march, we appreciate their act. But I would like to ask this very Bollywood, are some of them not responsible for moral degradation of India youth. Are they not using woman as a tool to exploit the weakness of youth and make money. Whatever and whenever wrong things these fraternities do, they always take shield by saying it is an artistic act. But why their most of the artistic acts most of the time play with the dignity of women.It is not right that after arrival of Sunny Leone , visit of porn site by India youth has increased many fold. Can anyone from Bollywood tell me from which art college Sunny Leone got her art degree? Taking the success tips from Bollywood, the advertising fraternities also started using same methods to get success and make easy money. They also started using very young girls and women to sell all kind of articles even that articles are made for men. There are several other ways to promote product but they always use young girls with less cloth or with some undignified move of girls and woman. In today scenario where 85% of our population is having the reach of television so these act of Bollywood and advertising agencies are badly polluting the mind of young India and children. For earning some easy money these so called educated, broadminded, and art lover are spoiling the very India culture. And their greedy acts for earning easy money is now showing the bad impact on India society. They need to understand their importance and act in responsible manner explore other way to convey the artistic message to their audience.
It is become fashion to abuse police when people themselves get chance to punish the culprit, they never punish but hope police to punish. It is reported that there are total 4835 MOs and MLA in the country, 1448 are facing criminal charge. Who elected these 1448. Is police elected them? If Public are behaving like this and expecting police to arrest the elected personals. Being police personnelwhen we see the rapist and criminals get elected it make us laugh and cry.
I am not saying that in police everything are ok, but who is responsible for this bechara state of police. The SHO or his subordinates are not responsible for this bechara state of police they are just a pawn of this game. If Police bosses who come from IPS/IAS cadre act promptly and sternly then no other policemen have guts to take bribe or do any misdeed but the most of the police bosses are only conscious about their carrier not about their service. They are very prompt in pleasing their political boss but very lazy and reluctant to serve the general public. So whatever the pathetic conditions the police forces are today is not due to dereliction of responsibility of SHO or his subordinated but due to gross dereliction of duties and responsibility by some of the IPS /IAS bosses of these very hard working police force. These bosses never tried to become the leader of their hard working force but always behave themselves like an”Indian Neta” who only preach before media but very hesitant to feel real problem of policing by join some time in night patrolling or traffic checking, These Indian Neta type bosses encourage the chamchagiry culture in force where hard worker always suffers.
In performing duty we are never suffered less fatigue than armed force. See the causality data for last 3-4 years you will find the police forces have suffered more causalities than armed force. If Armed Forces are like skin protecting India from outsiders attack then Police forces are also just like an immune system of body which keeping the body always healthy to fight any kind of virus attack. If a brother from our armed forces get causality everybody from our society started discussing about that person and his family but when a person from police force met with same fate very few one even talk. Even government is biased in that, when police personnel get martyrdom in line of performing his duty as per government book police martyrdom is not a Sahadat.
You don’t light a candle on our death
We don’t want any banner march on our fate
You have all rights to criticize our wrong act
But we do deserve some appreciation for our right and hard work
You don’t call our death as a Sahadat
But don’t question our death as sarart.
We are ready and capable to fight any kind of L&O problems
But we need your active participation in tackling social Problem
You have all rights to criticize but don’t generalize
